School partnerships

International school partnerships promote an understanding for foreign cultures, motivate pupils and teachers and show the practical use of ICT in class.

eTwinning is coodinated by the European Schoolnet. It promotes school collaboration in Europe through the use of ICT by providing support, tools and services. Since April 2011 Switzerland, through the Swiss Competence Centre for exchange and mobility of the ch Foundation, is part of the eTwinning network.

Comenius Partnerships

Comenius supports cooperation with schools throughout Europe. Cooperation is possible through partnerships at a regional level, multilateral partnerships involving several countries, or partnerships between two schools, where exchanges are organised between classes or individual pupils. Since January 2011 Switzerland is an active member of Comenius.

GLOBE

GLOBE Switzerland logo

In 1995 the US government launched the international non-profit school project GLOBE. Today, more than 17'000 schools from 107 countries with 2500 from european countries and 150 from Switzerland cooperate in GLOBE.

British Council

British Council is the successor of Global Gateway as international portal for school partnerships across borders - to work together in school projects or for a cultural exchange between schools and classes. The British Council offers opportunities in international programmes and activities to its registered schools.
